NBA Breakdown 8/30/2019

Bobby Gomes

There are 11 games on tonight's board. I'll walk through each game and give you my thoughts for each. Remember to buy my Core Plays to get up to the last minute core plays for tonights slate. Let's begin...

New York Knicks at Orlando Magic (-9) O/U 209

Knicks

Four Knicks guards are on the injury report. Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock have been ruled out. Kadeem Allen and Dennis Smith Junior are questionable. If Allen and DSJ are ruled out Frank Nitkiliina becomes a nice value. If one of the two that are questionable plays they are likely the value. RJ Barrett seems like a guy we are going to have to start playing more due to his minutes, propensity to shoot, and overall usage. Barret has a 24% usage rate coming into this game. My issue with Barret is that the Magic are second in defensive efficiency so for me he's likely just a tournament play.

Magic

Nikola Vucevic has been seeing elite usage through the first three games the issue s know Magic player has played over thirty-two minutes. That's likely to change eventually which makes Vucevic an extremely strong tournament play. While Vucevic's usage has been great it is actually Evan Fournier who has the highest usage rate on the team. While Aaron Gordon is extremely cheap for the spot the minutes and usage have not been there. Jonathan Isaac has actually been more productive than Gordon and is also an interesting gpp play. Markell Fultz has been outplaying DJ Augustine, but until he starts he is still nothing more than a large field tournament play.

Chicago Bulls (-2) at Cleveland Cavaliers O/U 216

Bulls

Otto Porter and Wendell Carter are both questionable for the Bulls. If Carter doesn't play Thaddeus Young would likely start and would become a nice value option. Lavine and Markkannen are both n play for tournaments. Markkanen should see Kevin Love defense so that's always a good thing.

Cavaliers

The Cavs implied team total is five points higher than it has been all season. That being said they still have one of the lower implied team totals on this 11 game slate. Kevin Love should make for a great tournament option tonight. The Bulls have no big that can really match him inside. Darius Garland is potentially a nice value play.

Minnesota Timberwolves at the Philadelphia 76ers (-6.5) O/U 224.5

Timberwolves

I'm not really on any Wolves tonight Towns would be the guy, but this is a tough matchup versus the 76ers and Embiid.

76ers

On the 76ers side, Embiid is the only guy that really stands out, because he will be getting Town's defense. I would much prefer Embiid to Towns for this reason. As for the other pieces on the 76ers when they are all fully healthy the usage becomes so spread out that rostering them is extremely difficult.

Milwaukee Bucks (-2.5) at Boston Celtics 22.5

Bucks

Giannis I believe is actually a good tournament play here in a bad matchup versus the Celtics. I strongly advise against rostering Giannis on Draftkings due to the three-point bonus which he doesn't receive, but tonight I think you can make an exception because of all of the rebounds he is going to get. Kris Middleton is another Buck that consistently kills the Celtics, so he is also in play for me, and I also like George Hill and Brooke Lopez a lot for the value.

Celtics

I don't love much for the Celtics from a DFS perspective. Maybe Jaylen Brown but on and 11 game slate I feel like we can look elsewhere.

Indiana Pacers at Brooklyn Nets (-3)

Pacers

Jeremy Lamb and Edmond Sumner are game-time decisions. If both are ruled out the situation would probably benefit Justin Holiday. Malcolm Brogdon has really come into his own with the Pacers and I like the price and matchup for him versus Kyrie Irving. I think TJ Warren is an interesting tournament option playing a boatload of minutes in tournaments. While the Nets are a defense we would want to target bigs against, Myles Turner and Sabonis have been eating into each other, so they are strictly tournament plays for me.

Nets

Kyrie Irving and Caris Levert are the two plays that interest me for the Nets. Kyrie has a 38% usage rate thats incredible. Caris Levert comes at a cheaper price tag than Kyrie and has been playing exceptional.

Detroit at Toronto (-9.5) 213.5

Detroit

Reggie Jackson and Blake Griffin are still out for the Pistons. Andre Drummond, Luke Kennard, and Derrick Rose are the plays i would consider but they are all overpriced and in a difficult road matchup.

Toronto

Paskal Siakem leads the Raptors in usage since the departure of Kawhi. Kyle Lowery has all been on an absolute tear. OG Aunoby is a fine value play. I'm not on any Gasol or Ibaka as they are splitting time and that's never viable for fantasy.

Portland (-1.5) at Oklahoma City (221)

Trailblazers

Waiting for CJ McCollum to break out of his shooting slump, he's relatively cheap around the industry. Think a lot of people will want to roster Andrew Tolliver after his big night the other night I personally would not chase.

Thunder

My new favorite player Shai-Gilgeous-Alexander has a 28% usage rate and gets CJ McCollum on defense. He is easily my favorite play in this game.

Houston Rockets (-8) at Washington Wizards O/U 233

Highest totaled game on the night. Westbrook and Harden are both phenomenal plays versus a Washington team that plays absolutely no defense. Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker are also strong Value plays in this spot.

Washington

Bradley Beal is a usage monster and strong tournament option whenever John Wall is not in the lineup. Rui Hachimura and Thomas Bryant are the other plays I would consider here. Bonga is in play for some not for me though as of right now.

Charlotte at Sacramento (-7.5)

Charlotte

Think Terry Rozier is sneaky in tournaments in this pace up spot. Dwayne Bacon has a 24% usage rate I like him. Miles Bridges is another play that I believe has some sneaky tournament upside on this slate. Cody Zeller is in another great matchup versus a depleted king's frontcourt.

Sacramento

The Kings are in an exceptional spot tonight love both Heild and Fox. Bogdanovich, Dedmon, and Bjelica all make for great value.

Los Angeles at Utah (-3.5) O/U 217

Kawi is out literally not on anything in this game.

Phoenix at Golden State (-5) O/U 229

Suns

Devin Booker's birthday narrative is a thing today, but he hasn't been great all year, Do like him in-game stacks. Dario Saric makes for s strong value play and I don't hate Rick Rubio for the ancillary stats he puts up.

Golden State

Steph Curry, Deangelo Russell, and Draymond Green are all in play today due to the pace up spot and the warrior's team total being what it is. I like this game for game stacks in tournaments.
